CryptoPunks ETHEREUM
CryptoPunks changed the way people collected digital art. Created by Larva Labs in 2017, the 10,000 characters became a reference point for collectors, artists and projects that followed, eventually finding their place in the broader art world. The collection has since entered major museums and remains one of the clearest examples of how a digital collection can become part of the cultural record. Its story is still young, but it is hard to imagine the future of digital art being written without it.

CryptoPunks became a reference point for a generation of digital collectors, shaping how people think about collecting, identity and art on-chain. Their addition to MoMA, through coordinated donations from collectors, the Larva Labs founders and other figures from the digital art community, marks another step in that story.
